In 1987 GC Engineering was formed to provide services to the mining and construction industries.The business expanded in 1993 to provide specialised services to a range of companies in the mining and construction sectors, and
subsequently Underground Mine Engineers was formed.
In 2001 UME Australia Pty Ltd commenced operations with the view to expanding into the drilling industry.
The company now provides a range of services across Australia with the primary focus geared towards the drilling sector.
Since the GC days the company has provided a vast range of services to numerous clients from state governments to private entities.
The company provides sponsorship and assistance to a range of bodies such as the Ballarat School of Mines-Student Chapter. We are also a member of the
Minerals Council of Australia and a major sponsor and organiser of the Victorian
Mine Rescue Competition.
